Should the rain ever stop, tonight might be a nice night to see Macbeth performed at the outdoor amphitheater at the Joseph S Daddona Lake and Terrace (formerly Union Terrace), Union and St. Elmo Streets in Allentown. The play will be performed, rain or shine, at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 10th, and at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th. While food will be available for purchase in the park, picnics are encouraged for this free event. There will be live music, including bagpipes, one hour before each show.
The show is performed by professional New York City actors and local high school students. According to the Morning Call, “the audience is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic in the park as they enjoy a classic Shakespeare play.”
