If you’ve missed some of the earlier Octoberfest celebrations, more chances abound this weekend, in south Bethlehem at SteelStacks and in the West End Allentown Theater District.
Bethlehem’s Oktoberfest runs this weekend and next, starting on Friday, October 5, 2012, with music on four stages, inside and out, including polka and rock. Admission is $10 daily, $20 for the weekend, and $5 for ages 5-12. There will also be food, beer, activities for kids, crafters, and contests (beer stein racing, weiner dog races, beer keg rolling and game show-style games).
There is no charge for Allentown’s West End Oktoberfest which runs from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 on Liberty Street between 18th and Layfayette (near the Allentown Fairgrounds). Six musical groups will be performing at this event, including the Pennsylvania Villagers (polka and variety), Muhlenberg AcaFellas (a capella group), Dave Goddess Group (classic rock), Leroy Justice (blues), and Cherry Bombs (classic rock). There will also be art vendors, food, and activities for kids and adults (along with West End Oktoberfest beer brewed for the event by Allentown BrewWorks). Proceeds benefit the West End Alliance and the Civic Theater of Allentown.
