Most folks in our area are most likely planning on staying indoors and hoping not to lose power this week. Which makes this a great week to read books, by flashlight or candlelight if necessary.
Over recent years, I’ve taken to rotating between books depending on my mood and the time of day. Which is why I am currently in the middle of several books, two non-fiction; Quiet, the power of introverts, and As Always Julia: the letters of Julia Child and Ava DeVoto, and one fiction; the third and final book in a combination bio-terrorist/zombie/blogger journalism thriller series by Mira Grant, Blackout.
There are some wonderful local plays and events coming up next weekend, if the power is on (Almost, Maine on stage at Perkiomen School next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – free and open to the public, and the Greater Lehigh Valley Filmmaker Festival in Bethlehem Nov 2-4, for example), and I’ll post more about them soon.
But for now, while the wind and rain keeps us off the road and in our homes, what will you be reading (or painting, or composing, or….)?
