On Saturday, December 1st, the Valley Choral Society and local church choirs join together for this special evening of Christmas music, Christmas in the Valley. Admission is free, however donations for Open Line are encouraged. 6 p.m. at Upper Perkiomen High School Auditorium, 2 Walt Road, Pennsburg.
The “Christmas Cottage” Craft Show is from 12 noon – 5:00 p.m. at the former Peace Mennonite Church; 104 Main St. East Greenville on Sunday, December 2nd. There will also be a kids craft activities. Anyone can make ornaments at Java Good Day Cafe on Sunday afternoon as part of the Hometown Christmas in the Valley. The annual Christmas parade begins in Red Hill at 1 p.m. Horses, llamas, sled dogs and Santa’s sleigh, among others will travel down Main Street from Red Hill to East Greenville, while Boy Scouts walk along the route to collect canned goods and other non-perishables that parade watchers are encouraged to bring and donate for Open Line (which serves those in need in the Upper Perkiomen Valley). Many local businesses will also have donation boxes and craft-making opportunities as part of Sunday’s event.
Handel’s Messiah will be performed at Ursinus College in Collegeville on Saturday, Dec. 1st at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 2nd, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Bomberger Auditorium, Ursinus College, 601 E. Main Street, Collegeville. 610-409-3583
Next Sunday, December 9th, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown is hosting A Christmas Carol Sing, beginning at 7 p.m. The Valley Arts Concert Series invites you to join in singing many of your favorite holiday hymns and songs on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 7 p.m. The Suite Brass and Shanay Johnson are the featured artists at this event. Refreshments will be served following the program. There is no ticket charge. A free will offering will be taken with proceeds given to Open Line’s Adopt A Family program.
