An eclectic theatrical mix

The Velveteen Rabbit, “a fun-filled family show with life-sized puppets, masks and magic from Enchantment Theatre” will appear one afternoon only at Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for children, $20 for adults and $50 for a family four pack. Suitable for children ages 4 – 10.

Starting this weekend and running through April 13th, student theater group Tectonic Theater Project at Lehigh University performs The Laramie Project;

In October 1998 Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. Soon after the brutal beating, Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project began year-long interviews with two hundred town residents. The Laramie Project was born from those interviews. The brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, an openly gay twenty-one year old student, sparked a dialogue about hate crimes that rocked the nation and continues to this day.

Tickets are $5 for students, and $12 for the general public. Performance begin at 8 p.m. (2 p.m. on Sunday) at the Zoellner Art Center, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA
