Philadelphia’s Cherry Blossom Festival; now through April 27th

The sun is shining, the weather is finally warming up, and the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia will be celebrating with events ranging from an exhibition of oil paintings by Tokujiro Nishi at Rincliffe Gallery 3rd Floor, Main Building at Drexel University, 32nd and Chestnut Street to Tamagawa Taiko Drum and Dance group which will be performing throughout the city this week (check site for performance sites, dates and prices) to sushi classes for children, and much more.

The main day of celebration is Sakura Sunday, on April 14, 2013 in Fairmount Park. Opening ceremonies get things started at 10:30 am, giving way to a full slate of activities, including: Tamagawa Taiko Drum and Dance Group, PerformancesTraditional Arts, such as Tea Ceremony, Ikebana, and Shamisen, Martial Arts Demos, Origami, calligraphy, and other indoor activities, Little Akiba – Anime, Manga, Music, and Karaoke area, Harajuku Fashion Show, and more!
