Time to Make Summer Plans

It’ s not too early to start planning for summer – Philadelphia Folk Festival tickets went on sale to the public last night, for a 20% discount. Have you ever played at the campground, or wanted to be up on stage? Then now is the time to sign up to perform on Friday, June 21st at Make Music Upper Perk  (you can consider it practice for the main event in August, or wish fulfillment if you don’t like camping!)

Bethlehem Musikfest is already announcing some of the main free acts that will be on stage during the August 2nd – 11th festival (a week before the Philly Folk Festival, which opens on August 15th). In recognition of this being the 30th anniversary of the Fest, special events and programs are planned in addition to the more than 300 artists on 14 stages. Liberty and Freedom high school students will present two afternoons of performances at the Tropical stage.  Buckwheat Zydeco, Holly Williams, Igor and the Red Elvises, and John Gorka are just a few of the headliners who will be performing on the free stages during the week. Musikfest is the nation’s largest free, non-gated music festival.
