One of my favorite Oscar honored animated short films this year was The Gruffalo’s Child, which is part of Bethlehem’s SouthSide Film Festival this week. The children’s film festival starts tonight, June 12th, at 6 p.m. at Godfrey Daniels, 7 E. Fourth Street, Bethlehem, PA and is FREE.
Tonight’s opening event
will even have a red carpet. Children can put on boas and sunglasses, hold a statuette and get their photo taken. It will also offer popcorn, cookies and rinks and a strolling magician. Then kids can watch an hourlong block of films from the New York International Children’s Film Festival.
Kathy Lauer- Williams, The Morning Call
There are three blocks of films which will be shown on a rotating basis from June 13 – June 15 (Saturday), all at Godfrey Daniels and all free, at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm, and 2:30 pm each day Thursday through Friday. Wednesday night will show just one block of films. Details on the film blocks and which films are shown when can be found on the official site. The Morning Call has summaries of each of the films in each block.
I don’t have kids around the house anymore, but I may go anyway – the films sound great!
