Midsummer Rainy Days

Looks like rainy days ahead, which means maybe skip the outdoor concerts this weekend and head for the theater, concert hall, or art galleries instead. Quite a few shows are opening this week, including The Importance of Being Earnest at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival in Center Valley. Muhlenberg Summer Theater’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar runs July 10 -28th.

Allentown Symphony joins a growing number of orchestras featuring video game scores along with a laser light show, synchronized video game graphics and interactive segments. Video Games Live will be at Miller Symphony Hall on Sunday evening, July 14th beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $19-52.

Come experience Video Games Live  with all-new music and an all-new show, featuring Tommy Tallarico, soloists, Concord Chambers Singers, exclusive video footage and music arrangements, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists, live action and unique interactive segments to create an explosive entertainment experience for gamers of all ages.

Be the first to see all new segments featuring Metroid, Pokemon, Final Fantasy VIII, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Portal, Mega Man, God of War, Mario and more. Enjoy a special 25th Anniversary salute toZelda and University of Maryland Gamer Symphony Orchestra alum Greg Cox’s evocative Final Fantasyarrangement. Classic hits include Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Castlevania, Tetris and more. Experience the power of live symphonic music from your favorite video games synchronized to cutting-edge visuals, lighting and special effects!

Plan to arrive early for the pre-show festival (about 90 minutes before show time) with Guitar Hero competition and get your best garb on for the VGL costume contest! Plus, Gamestop will be there with the latest games and console hardware for you to try.
