Celebrate the first weekend in fall at Oktoberfests

Check out the crafts and artists starting at 11 a.m. at Boyertown’s sixth annual Oktoberfest, at the Inner Core Parking Lot off of Reading Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue on Saturday, September 21st (raindate September 28). The music starts at noon with the Boyertown Alumni Ceremonial Band starting thing off, followed later in the afternoon by the Reading Liederkranz Singers and the Auerhahn Schuhplattler Dancers. The wine and beer tent opens at 1 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m.

The festivities move to Bear Creek Mountain Resort on Sunday, September 22nd. Admission is free to “Munich on the Mountain; Bavaria at Bear Creek,” noon to 5 p.m. The Volksmarch ( a 5K and 10K family fall hike) begins at 10 a.m.

Tap your toes and slap your shoe. Let the sights and sounds of Oktoberfest take you to Bavaria. Traditional German Music from 12PM – 5PM provided by Mark Hamza and the Apple Strudel Gang, The Greater Kensington String Band and Accordion Polka Music throughout the lodge. Watch the Almrausch dancers perform a rousing schuplatter in the lodge from 2-4PM.
Of course, there will also be games, good German food, and beer tents, all on the mountain at 101 Doe Mountain Lane in Macungie.
And don’t forget to save the dates for SteelStacks Oktoberfest in Bethlehem October 4-6, 11-13, and the first annual Oktoberfest on Main Street in East Greenville on Saturday, October 26th.
