The high school theater season is in full swing, with four musicals running this weekend in our area.
If you don’t already have a ticket to see Shrek the Musical at Southern Lehigh High School, then you are probably out of luck, since their website states that the shows are all sold out. (Maybe there is a waiting list? 484-919-3851.)
Seussical the Musical is on stage at the theater at Bangor Area High School, 187 Five Points RIchmond Road, Bangor, PA, 610-599-7011. The show starts at 7 p.m. Friday night, February 28th, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Bye Bye Birdie begins at 7:30 p.m on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1st, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Saucon Valley High School, 2100 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. $8 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults. Tickets will be available at the door for ALL performances. Cash and checks only.
One of my favorite movies is also a stage musical! Moravian Academy in Bethlehem stages My Favorite Year this weekend.
The Golden Era of live television comes to life in this glorious Technicolor musical. When a young comedy writer meets his childhood film-star idol, who knows what zany antics will follow these two and their friends on the set and on the streets of New York City! This show promises to make 1954 everyone’s Favorite Year!
Performances – February 28th at 7:30 p.m., March 1st at 7:30 p.m., and March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. For reservations contact Marla Strohl at 610-691-1600. Moravian Academy, 4313 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem.
