The Wizard of Oz – Upper Perk High School Musical!

Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, along with munchkins, witches both good and bad, and “the great and powerful Wizard of Oz” will be on stage singing and dancing for one week only at the Upper Perkiomen High School, 2 Walt Road, Pennsburg.

I managed to see some of the rehearsals, and it is just fantastic – great performances, outstanding sets, costumes, and special effects – 50 students on stage and dozens behind the scenes making the magic happen (not to mention a live orchestra). The curtain rises on UPHS production of the musical The Wizard of Oz, which features all the wonderful songs you remember from the movie, on March 12, 2014 (afternoon Gold Show Performance for Senior Citizens).

Everyone is invited to attend the performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, March 13-15, 2014 (tickets on sale at door beginning at 6 p.m., show begins at 7 p.m.) and Sunday afternoon, March 16, 2014 (show begins at 2 p.m.). General admission tickets are $8. Thursday night, March 13 special student ticket price is $5. Sunday afternoon children’s (age 14 and under) ticket price is $5.
