One performance only – Lightwire Theater’s Ugly Duckling, Tortoise and the Hare

Lightwire Theater takes the stage at Zoellner Theater on Lehigh University Campus, 420 E. Packer Avenue, Bethlehem, on Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2014, at 4 p.m. Fantastic for all ages, tickets may be bought online to see the combined performance of The Ugly Duckling and The Tortoise and The Hare.

Specializing in blurring the lines between reality and special effects, Lightwire Theater combines classic optical illusion with cutting edge technology to produce a stunningly innovative theatrical experience. Lined in electroluminescent wire, ballet and Broadway-trained dancers become invisible on a darkened stage, their glowlight suits morph into favorite and fantastical storybook characters. By combining storytelling, elaborate puppetry, and music ranging from classical to pop to film scores, incandescent creatures spring to vivid life.

At 2:30 p.m. on Sunday there will be a free lobby show outside the theater overseen by The Baum School of Art, who will run a mixed media sculpture workshop for students ages 7 – 11.
