Jazz on Thursday and Outdoor Summer Concert on Saturday

The Alan Segal Quartet starts to play at 7 p.m. at this summer’s only Jazz & Joe event in Harleysville at the Church of the Holy Spirit on Thursday, June 12, 2014. Desserts and beverages will be on hand for this free community concert (suggested donation $10). Jazz & Joe concerts at COHS will resume in the fall, on the second Thursday of the month, starting in September. Church of the Holy Spirit, 2871 Barndt Road (Route 63 and Barndt Road), Harleysville.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and maybe even picnic baskets, to the Green Lane Park Amphitheater , 2298 Green Lane Road (Amphitheater is by the tennis courts and wooden playground) early Saturday evening, June 14th, to hear the “cello driven acoustic rock” as played by the Alfred James Band. This free  family friendly concert, featuring cello, electric guitars, bass, violin, and a didgeridoo, starts at 7 p.m. and continues until 9 p.m. The Alfred James Band has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, and the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts, among other venues.   215-234-4528
