Head over to Emmaus Saturday afternoon, June 28th, to the The Band Shell Pavilion at the Emmaus Community Park, 1401 Shimersville Road for a day of free music and food, courtesy of Bachman, Kulik and Reinsmith Funeral Homes, celebrating their 150th anniversary. The Walt Groller Orchestra (award winning polka band) will be playing from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. School’s Out Band takes the stage with rock & roll, Motown funk and more, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Food is served from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. by Smokin’ Smitty’s Catering. Bring your lawn chair.
The wonderful Tom Chapin is in Souderton as part of their Sundae Summer concert series, on Sunday, June 29th. The free concert starts at 7 p.m. in Souderton Park at the Maurice W. Foulke bandshell. In case of rain, the concert will be held at Indian Crest Middle School at 139 Harleysville Pike. Tom Chapin is a Grammy award winning singer/songwriter known for adult and children’s music. Free. Souderton Park, Wile Avenue and Reliance Road, Souderton.
If you get to the bandstand early enough, you won’t need to bring a chair (although you may want to for the fireworks after the concert) for the annual 4th of July Red Hill Band concert at New Goshenhoppen Park, 3rd Street, East Greenville, beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. when the fireworks start in the neighboring field. Free.
For more patriotic marches, and other concert band music, the Allentown Band will be in Souderton for their July 6th Concert Sundae at 7 p.m. in Souderton Park at the Maurice W. Foulke bandshell, Wile Avenue and Reliance Road, Souderton. Free music (and ice cream for sale).
Green Lane Park Summer Concert Series continues with creole/cajun music of Zydeco on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 – 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Green Lane Park. The 78th Army Band will be playing standards and jazz on Tuesday evening, July 22, 2014 at the Park, followed by Celtic Crossroads finishing off the season on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
