According to the calendar, there are a few more weeks left in summer, but that isn’t stopping local playhouses from kicking off their fall theater season this weekend.

embezzling mayor is to meet his female accountant, while in the room
next door, two cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there’s
confusion as to who’s in which room, who’s taken the money, who’s
hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes!

Florence Foster Jenkins was a wealthy and eccentric socialite who believed she was a great coloratura soprano when in fact, she was incapable of producing two consecutive notes in tune. Despite (or perhaps because of) this, her annual recitals in the ballroom of the Ritz Carlton hotel brought her extraordinary fame.
