Fall Theater Season Starts Now!

According to the calendar, there are a few more weeks left in summer, but that isn’t stopping local playhouses from kicking off their fall theater season this weekend.

Unnecessary Farce opens tonight at DCP Theater in Telford, and runs through September 20, 2014.

Two cops. Three crooks. Eights doors. Go! In a cheap motel room, an
embezzling mayor is to meet his female accountant, while in the room
next door, two cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there’s
confusion as to who’s in which room, who’s taken the money, who’s
hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes!

Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the door. DCP Theater, 795 Ridge Road, Telford. 215-234-0966

The comedy Souvenir opened this week at Montgomery Theater in Souderton.

Florence Foster Jenkins was a wealthy and eccentric socialite who believed she was a great coloratura soprano when in fact, she was incapable of producing two consecutive notes in tune. Despite (or perhaps because of) this, her annual recitals in the ballroom of the Ritz Carlton hotel brought her extraordinary fame.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Montgomery Theater, 124 Main Street, Souderton. 215-723-9984. The final performance will be staged on September 21, 2014.

This is the final weekend for Playcrafter’s late summer production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. Tickets may be purchased online, as well as at the door. Playcrafters of Skippack, 2011 Store Road, Skippack (in The Barn). 610-584-4005
