The Chester County Choral Society Chamber Choir, a community chorus of 80 auditioned, volunteer singers, will be giving a concert on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 2871 Barndt Road, Harleysville.
In addition to the concert, the Church of the Holy Spirit is offering a pre-concert dinner (advance reservations requested) from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Dinner will include beverages, bread, salad, side dish, entree, and dessert. Entree selections include turkey, pot roast, chili, or pasta. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
The Chamber Ensemble’s Fall 2014 concerts feature: Rheinberger’s Abendlied, Sweelinck’s Gaudete ones, Clausen’s Set Me as a Seal, Gjeilo’s Ubin caritas, Johanson’s rarely-heard Fancies (settings of words from Shakespeare plays), Schumann’s Gypsy Life, the King Singer’s version of Simple Gifts, Dengler’s Things That Never Die, Stroope’s I Am Not Yours, Jocelyn Hagen’s Now Our Meeting’s Over, Kassandra Flamouropoulos’ Spanish Ladies and the premiere of Garlett’s choral adaptation of Amy Beach’s Three Browning Songs.
