If the beautiful, crisp fall weather holds, this would be a great weekend to drive around checking out the leaves and outdoor festivals taking place in our area this weekend.
On Saturday only (October 4th), down the road in Zionsville (just off Route 100), Stahl’s Pottery is hosting their annual fall festival from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – rain or shine! In addition to tours of the potting sheds and kiln, pottery making demonstrations, and an opportunity to try making pottery yourself, one can meet over 20 potters displaying and selling traditional and contemporary pottery of their own design. Admission is $3 per person; children under 18 are free.
The 7th Annual West End Oktoberfest, Saturday, October 4th, is free to all. The fest is set up on 19th Street in Allentown (south of Tilghman in Allentown’s West End Theater District behind the Allentown Fairgrounds). There will be two stages of music, over 15 food vendors, a children’s activity area, and a wide selection of beers and beverages. 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Skippack Days Arts and Crafts Festival takes place over the entire weekend of October 4-5, 2014, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day. Crafters, artists, food vendors, shops, and entertainment are set up all along Main Street. Free.
For the first time in the festival’s existence, admission will be free for both weekends of the ArtsQuest’s Oktoberfest, October 3-5 and 10-12, 2014. This celebration of German culture; music (including polka, rock, and party bands), German food, games, craft beer, and more is held on the south side of Bethlehem, by the SteelStacks. Oktoberfest 2014 will also host a Yuengling Oktoberfest 5 K run on October 5th, and a free Penn State-Michigan football game viewing party on the Levitt Pafillion Lawn on October 11th.
