No need to drive over hill and dale to find a school musical production this winter; students in the Upper Perkiomen Valley have been rehearsing for weeks in preparation to hit the stage and share their talent with the public.
First up is Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR, at the Upper Perkiomen Middle School (510 Jefferson Street, East Greenville), on Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th, 2015, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Middle School auditorium. Order forms are in the Upper Perkiomen Middle School office. These shows tend to sell out before showtime, so get your tickets now! This fun show is suitable for all ages, and runs approximately one hour. I hear there will even be some rollerskating, along with the singing and dancing.
A few weeks later on stage in the auditorium at the Upper Perkiomen High School is the British musical (and Pennsylvania premiere) Through the Looking Glass. Show times vary; 6:30 p.m. for Thursday, March 12th, 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, March 13th and 14th, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 15th, 2015. $10 for Reserved Seating (in the center of the auditorium) and $8 for general admission. There is a special student ticket price of $5 for Thursday night’s performance (sold at box office on the night of the performance only – student id needed). $5 tickets will also be available for children 14 and under for Sunday’s matinee performance. Advance ticket order form and money is due March 4, 2015. The auditorium opens 40 minutes before the show begins. All performances at Upper Perkiomen High School, 2 Walt Road, Pennsburg, PA.
