Musical Interlude

Spend the morning enjoying the sight of the last snow of winter, and the first of spring, and delight in knowing that by afternoon the weather will be warmer and the roads will be clear. Which allows for plenty of time and safe driving to enjoy concerts in our area tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

Saturday night, March 21st, The Dogs of Falkner Swamp are performing a benefit concert at the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center (105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg), beginning at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 at the door. A dessert bar and other light refreshments are included in your ticket price which benefits Palm Schwenkfelder’s Relay for Life team (American Cancer Society).

This evening of musical entertainment features local favorites “The Dogs of Falkner Swamp!” Accompanied by acoustic guitar, vocalists Glenn Moser, Bob Schnaars, and Bob Erb are guaranteed to delight you with their amazing repertoire of secular and spiritual songs, including well-known hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Mark your calendar and come out for a toe-tapping, hand clapping casual evening of music!

Choral settings of favorite Beatles’ tunes performed by the Valley Choral Society is the main event at the FREE Pops Concert on Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2015 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (81 Main Street, Pennsburg), beginning at 4 p.m.

And mark your calendar for Sunday, April 26, 2015 to hear the premiere work by local composer Dan Tuck, “Mystical Poems” which consists of poetry of Hildegard Von Bingen, Meister Eckhart and Julian of Norwich, sung by local chorale group Vox Celestium and accompanied by local players in a chamber orchestra, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (81 Main Street, Pennsburg).
