I could tell you about tomorrow’s free Art in the Park in Allentown; at Allentown’s West Park, 15th and 16th Streets, between Linden and Turner Streets, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., or about the free The Manayunk Arts Festival, also tomorrow on Saturday, June 20th, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., as well as on Sunday, June 21st, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. But hopefully folks read all about that on the blog last week. And I suppose I shouldn’t leave out Stahl’s Pottery Festival, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Zionsville on Saturday, June 20th, rain or shine. I might also mention that pretty great theater is on stage in the area this weekend (and beyond).
But you know all I really want to write about is the 3rd Annual Make Music Upper Perk happening this Sunday, June 21st, rain or shine, in 9 locations around the Upper Perkiomen Valley; all free and open to the public. In honor of it being Sunday, and Father’s Day, we’ve made plans for some special Family Fun activities and music. You can find photos and short video of the event, along with other updated info, throughout the day at the Make Music Upper Perk Facebook page, or by following us on twitter @MakeMusicUP. Please post any photos you take at MMUP on Facebook, instagram, and elsewhere #mmup15. We’ve got a fantastic group of musicians lined up to play; all ages, all genres, all part of this daylong celebration, starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending sometime around 10 p.m.
Keep an eye out for photos of this year’s local Make Music event at Little Wing Photography’s website; local professional photographer Kristi Morris will be taking photographs of this year’s music celebration all around the Valley. http://littlewingphotography.com
While most of MMUP performance spaces are indoors, 4 of our venues are scheduled to be held outside. In case of rain, we will be making the following changes, to try and keep all the music playing on schedule;
Red Hill Park – performers and audience will move to under cover at picnic pavilion.
The Porch at Pennsburg UCC – performers and audience will move inside the church social hall.
Who’s Hungry Cafe – all will be moved to inside of Moyer’s Marketplace (324 Main St, East Greenville).
St. Mark’s Gazebo/Lawn – all will be moved to New Goshenhoppen Park (bandstand and audience space under cover), 3rd Street, East Greenville.
