On Sunday, August 30, 2015, Mr. Vincent P. Bercher will be conducting his final concert with the Red Hill Band at Emmaus Park in Emmaus, PA from 6:00-8:00 pm. Mr. Bercher has been the conductor of the Red Hill Band for 42 years. Two years ago, at his 40th year as conductor, the band honored him by having a song written. It was presented to him at the annual Red Hill Band’s Spring Concert. Prior to becoming conductor of the Red Hill Band, Mr. Bercher was the band director at the Upper Perkiomen School District. He taught 7th & 8th grade Junior Band and was high school band director for grades 9-12. Mr. Bercher took his marching bands to many different states and competed in parades, field shows and concert venues. The Upper Perkiomen Valley was always proud of the high school band and the acclamations that they received during Mr. Bercher’s tenure. He was a teacher of the Upper Perkiomen School District for over 30 years. During his “free” time, he was choir director at St. Philip Neri Church and gave private music lessons in his studio at home. He loved boating and camping and is now enjoying spending time with his children and grandchildren.
