The folks at Bear Creek Ski Resort in Macungie (and just down the road from the Upper Perkiomen Valley) decided not to wait until October to host what must be the first Oktoberfest of 2015, this Sunday, September 20, 2015, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. For those who’d like to have a nice family hike, in the traditional German fashion, before the festival opens, Bear Creek is hosting a Volksmarch at 10 a.m. The games, food, music, and more begin at 11 a.m. Tickets at the gate are $8.
Bear Creek will host the only Oktoberfest Volksmarch in the Valley. The Volksmarch is a 10k or 5k family friendly, fall foliage hike. Hikers will visit a festival tent along their travels. This tent will be housed atop the mountain and will feature German beer and panoramic views of the valley.
In addition, guests will enjoy traditional German music and folk dancing, and even German themed games.
(Bear Creek is offering an Oktoberfest package for just $25. This package includes a festival T-shirt, Beer Mug, ticket to the event and 1 mug fill up. This package must be purchased in advance.)
