Can’t get tickets to Hamilton? Can’t get enough of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s fabulous original music and lyrics?
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, July 13th, you have 15 chances to see the first Broadway show conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who won his first Tony in 2008 for Best Score (lyrics and music), at the Baker Theater at Muhlenberg College, 2400 Chew Street, Allentown, PA. In the Heights runs July 13 – 31, 2016 and is the second and final show in this year’s Muhlenberg Summer Music Theater series. Tickets may be bought online, as well as at the door.
From the composer of the Broadway smash Hamilton, In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood — a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams, and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions to take with you … and which ones you leave behind.
In The Heights is the Winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
Oh, yes, I have my tickets in hand for Thursday’s performance – I will be taking my nephew who was a little unhappy that I didn’t take him to see Hamilton (but is feeling better now that his mother scored 2 tickets for the show in April).
