Summer is Here and so is Make Music Upper Perk!

The 12th annual Make Music Upper Perk is today – Friday, June 21st, all over the Valley, all free, all open to the public, all live music, of nearly every genre, by musicians of all ages, RAIN or SHINE or HOT WEATHER! Performances will be taking place inside and outside – about half of the venues will be hosting musicians inside, and the rest will be soaking up the sunshine and awesome vibes of the day.

There will be more than 300 musicians and over 100 performances happening in 5 towns in the Upper Perkiomen Valley all on one day – the music starts at 9 a.m. and doesn’t end until 10 p.m.!

We know that the first full day of summer is coming in hot! As with many summer festivals, you will want to use your best strategies to keep cool. If you don’t want to miss the music at one of the outdoor spots, pull out your favorite sun hat, find the shade, take breaks in the A/C, wrap a cool wet cloth around your neck, stay hydrated. (All venues have water available in one form or another.) Oh! And look at these fantastic fans that we will have available, batteries included! (only $5 each!) (Make Music Upper Perk merchandise for sale can be found in front of Java & Friends in East Greenville and Pennsburg UCC in the morning, and at the UPV Garden Club Community Garden in East Greenville in the afternoon.)

But wait there’s more! PopUp Spots! In addition to those 20+ venues on the MMUP map, these locations are opening their doors to musicians on Friday June 21st! It’s a spontaneous combustion of music….keep your eyes and ears open for surprises throughout the day!

(And if you don’t want the music to end too early, you can hang out until 10 p.m. at New Goshenhoppen UCC Park where the Full Moon Campfire Singalong will be concluding the day. Or at Mario’s Cafe & Pizzeria where you will get to enjoy one last performer till 10. The porch at AbellaSpecialties will be rocking till 9 p.m. too!)
