Fall Festivals; from pumpkin painting to food trucks to Bethlehem’s Celtic Faire to Oktoberfest (in September) to ukes to pottery.

Fall Fest and Craft Fair Fundraiser at Herbein’s Garden Center, 4301 Chestnut Street (AKA Route 29), Emmaus, PA is this Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd and 23rd, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This Fall Fest features crafts for sale, a pumpkin painting contest, gardening workshops, educational seminars by the Lehigh County Humane Society (for whom the fundraiser is being held), food, and live music. One of the musical performers may be familiar to those who attended Make Music Upper Perk this year – Acoustic Project will be playing on Sunday afternoon, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

One can spend all of next weekend going from one festival to another, from Red Hill to Pennsburg to Bethlehem, PA. Red Hill’s 3rd Fall Food Truck Festival, raising money for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Upper Perkiomen, runs from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Red Hill Fire Company parking lot (71 E 4th Street, Red Hill, PA) on Friday evening, September 28, 2018. There is no admission charge; there will be food trucks, craft vendors, activities, a beer garden, and live music.

The Bethlehem Celtic Classic and Highland Games Festival The Celtic Classic Hours are Friday, September 28, 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday, September 29,  9:30 am – 11:00 pm. Sunday , September 30,  9:30 am – 7:00 p.m. The Festival is set up in the fields behind Hotel Bethlehem in Old City, Bethlehem and along Lehigh River, featuring five stages of live music, as well as competitions (including Highland Dance Competition, Drum Major Competition, Fiddle Competition, Celtic Poetry Competition), food, celtic art and other vendors, and more.

Tickets are still available for the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library Beer Tasting fundraiser, featuring local craft beers (from micro-breweries and local home brewers within 40 miles of the Valley), a free tour of the vehicle museum on the Haines Estate, food trucks, and Oktoberfest style music performed by some of the musicians from the Red Hill Band. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. (3327 Geryville Pike, Pennsburg, PA)

The Haines Estate is located on Geryville Pike in Pennsburg. Home of John B. Haines IV, the estate consists of the historic Andreas Reid House, a barn and tannery, and outbuildings housing the owner’s impressive collection of antique vehicles and equipment.

Funky Frets Uke Fest in Boyertown features evening concerts on Friday and Saturday, October 5th and 6th, 2018, as well as vendors and workshops on Saturday morning and afternoon, ending with a Strum-along Train Ride on the Historic Colebrookdale Railroad on Sunday morning, October 7th (train tickets must be bought before Sunday) – Strum-along train ride will be followed with a couple of workshops, picnic and a jam after the train for full ticket holders @ Funky Frets 124 N. Chestnut St., Boyertown, PA USA .The festival is a ticketed event.

Stahl’s Pottery 11th annual Pottery Festival this fall begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Stahl’s Pottery, historic property in Powder Valley, Pennsylvania (GPS address: 6826 Corning Road, Zionsville PA).

The Pottery Festival features:

  • Around 30 local potters displaying and selling traditional & contemporary pottery
  • Tours of the potting sheds and kiln
  • Pottery demonstrations
  • Hands-on potting opportunities
  • An exhibit of original, historic Stahl’s pottery
  • The sale of baked goods & light refreshments
  • Our newest Commemorative Ornament & other SPPS items

The Festival will be held rain or shine.  Parking is free. Admission is $4.00 per person; children under 18 are free.
